Kingsley Oturu is a medical doctor with a special interest in HIV and development. He has primary fellowship with the West Afrian of Public Health Physicians. He has a broad range of experience working with specialist hospitals, Federal Psychiatric hospital, and the private sector. He also has experience working with youths on issues surrounding HIV and democratic governance. He has been involved in senior managerial roles in several projects including USAID/John Hopkins University funded program on HIV communication and democratic governance, and Project Manager for European Union funded program – Partnership To Reinforce Immunisation Efficiency in Nigeria (EU-PRIME). He is innovative and involved in the founding of projects. He is founder and national coordinator of Prevention and Control of AIDS/STDs foundation (PRELAIDS), the UNICEF support society in QMU Edinburgh and the African Scottish Development Organisation (ASDO).
He also has had experience of working as a facilitator for training health personnel and community workers on immunisation efficiency.
He is currently working on his doctoral studies on “Factors that affect access to anti-retroviral drugs(ARVs) in resource poor settings” with a focus in Nigeria in particular and Africa in general. He hopes to explore the role of various contextual and health system factors that impact on access to these anti-AIDS drugs in resource poor countries.
