Elvis Gama is a health economist from the University of Malawi where, since 2003, he has taught economics at the Malawi Polytechnic, and health management at the College of Medicine. Since 2008, Elvis taught health systems management, resource allocations and economic evaluations on the Masters in Public Health program at the Malawi College of Medicine. Currently, Elvis teaches on the role of economics (macro and micro) and health sector reform in reproductive health issues at Queen Margaret University (QMU).
Elvis has a Masters in Applied Economics (Curtin University, Australia) and a Masters in Economics (University of Edinburgh, UK). He is currently undertaking research on the role of the private health sector in health systems, the public-private mix in health care and the financing of health services in the Sub-Sahara region.
