PG Programme and Structure: Social Justice, Development and Health
This is a modular programme of study (ie existing out of a range of modules) with the taught Postgraduate Certificate component extending over one 15-week semester and the taught Postgraduate Diploma component extending over two 15-week semesters.
The Postgraduate Certificate in Social Justice, Development and Health consists of 3 core modules: International Health & Social Policy, Social Development Policy and PRactice and Social Justice, plus one elective. Each single module carries 15 SCOTCAT credit points at Masters level. Successful completion of the 4 modules will accumulate the necessary 60 credit points to enable participants to qualify for the award of Postgraduate Certificate in Social Justice, Development and Health.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Social Justic, Development and Health consists of 6 core modules plus a choice of 2 elective modules. Each single module carries 15 SCOTCAT credit points at Masters level. Successful completion of the 8 modules will accumulate the necessary 120 credit points to enable participants to qualify for the award of Postgraduate Diploma in Social Justice, Development and Health.
The MSc in Social Justice, Development and Health is awarded subsequent to completion of a dissertation equivalent to 4 modules (60 credits). To progress to this award, successful completion of the seven Postgraduate Diploma modules must also have been achieved.
