PG Programme and Structure: Sexual and Reproductive Health
This is a modular programme of study (ie existing out of a range of modules) with the taught Postgraduate Certificate component extending over one 15-week semester and the taught Postgraduate Diploma component extending over two 15-week semesters.
The Postgraduate Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health consists of 3 core modules in semester 2.
- Sexual and Reproductive Health
- Gender, Health and Development
- HIV Development
And one module from:
- Policy & Practice in Complex Emergencies
- Psychosocial Interventions with War-Affected Populations
- Project Design and Management
- Independent Study
Each single module carries 15 SCOTCAT credit points at Masters level. Successful completion of the core modules will accumulate the necessary 60 credit points to enable participants to qualify for the award of Postgraduate Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Health consists of 7 core modules, and 1 elective module. Each single module carries 15 SCOTCAT credit points at Masters level. Successful completion of the 8 modules will accumulate the necessary 120 credit points to enable participants to qualify for the award of Postgraduate Diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Health.
The MSc in Sexual and Reproductive Health is awarded subsequent to completion of a dissertation equivalent to 4 modules (60 credits). To progress to this award, successful completion of the eight Postgraduate Diploma modules must also have been achieved.
