Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Social Development
The PgCert in Applied Social Development is a focused ten week study programme for participants who require conceptual understanding and practical skills in the area of planning health provision with an awareness of relevant social development issues. The programme focuses on analysis of the relationship between gender, health and development; identification of constraints on the social development of a community; appraisal of the impact of such social development constraints on a planned health project or programme; and effective planning and implementation of health interventions.
The Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Social Development will be awarded on successful completion of the following modules:
- Gender, Health & Development
- Project Design & Management
And two modules from:
- Policy & Practice in Complex Emergencies
- Psychosocial Interventions with War-Affected Populations
- HIV & Development
- Independent Study (focusing on a topic relevant to applied social development)
