PebblePad is not displaying properly - what should I do?
PebblePad requires Flash Player 9 to run properly. While accessing from on campus, or via the remote desktop (citrix) this should not be a problem. However, if you are accessing from outside QMU and find that you continue to see 'bubbles' on your screen when you have logged in, then it may be that you do not have Flash 9 installed. There is a link to Adobe Flash Player on the login page where you can freely download this software.
Another reason that PebblePad may not display properly could be due to the browser you are using. For example, if you have pop-ups disabled, then the log on page may not appear. There are instructions on how to log in to PebblePad here:
A browser check facility is also available on the log in page

Do I have to keep an ePortfolio?
Some of your modules may require you to keep aspects of an ePortfolio, for example, a blog. Other modules may ask you to keep elements of an ePortfolio, for example, a folio. However if you don’t need to, it will be useful as a tool to organise your thinking about what you have or haven’t learnt at QMU and what you need to plan for in the future.

How frequently should I update my ePortfolio?
Try to update it on a regular basis, at least once or twice a month. Keep your blog as up-to-date as possible and remember to record significant events as quickly as possible before you forget them. It is then important to return to them a few days later when you have had time to reflect on them.

Who can access my ePortfolio?
Your ePortfolio is your private learning space. You can share elements of this, such as blogs or folios with anyone, outside or within QMU but no other students or staff can access the area unless you give permission. Information Services monitor the use of all institutionally owned computer facilities and equipment at QMU and are able to create and examine logs of every electronic communication. Information Services also reserve the right to examine the contents of any transmission as per section 16 of the QMU Policy and Procedures. This is only done in exceptional circumstances, when necessary and must be authorised by appropriate senior management within the institution.
Any queries regarding this should be forwarded to the Director of Information Services and Learning Resource Centre.
