Resit Support Programme
The Resit Support Programme aims to:
- help you get through your resits successfully
- develop your academic skills and confidence for next year
What is it?
Two weeks of support to help you through your resit exams and assignments.
When is it?
The programme runs for two weeks:
Monday 2nd to Friday 13th July, 2012.
How does it work?
You will work with a personal study mentor (an experienced tutor) to:
- help you plan your time
- offer any help and feedback you need
- keep you motivated throughout the week
- help you improve your skills for next year
What else is on offer?
Optional study skills workshops are available on essay planning and writing, revision strategies, memory tips, and exam techniques – a chance to build confidence and skills for next year.
Staff from the LRC are also available, for guidance you may need in using databases and researching, and some subject lecturers may be available for additional advice in your subject.
Comments from students on the programme last year:
"...tutor has been very approachable, very helpful in giving me direction…flexible…gone out of her way to help me"
"…gained a lot of confidence in essay writing and lit searching…"
"…changed my approach – can now plan realistic goals and complete on time."
"I’m glad I did this…without it I may have left university."
Who can attend?
The programme is for undergraduate students, resitting modules as a second diet, but students sitting assessments as a first diet in August can also apply.
There are 50 places available this year (2011-2012). Priority is given to 1st and 2nd year students, who may benefit in particular as they go into 3rd year.
3rd and 4th years are also welcome to apply and, if we can, we will try and fit you in.
