Kirsty Williamson Kirsty is a QMU graduate. She studied diagnostic radiography. Since graduating two years ago, she has been working at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary (ERI) as a radiographer. As a student at QMU, she was on placement at ERI and she feels her local hospital experience helped her in finding a job on graduation. She works in a big department within ERI with a varied workload and feels her student experience in this department was very useful. She liked the block format of her course at QMU, where placements were punctuated with periods of theoretical training on campus. She says students need to work hard on placement. She feels her course prepared her well for her career, and found the emphasis on team-work useful as it mirrors her real-life experience. She found QMU staff were always ready to help out with questions. She tells us her course at QMU attracted a diverse range of students from all over the world, giving her the opportunity to learn from different cultures. This experience has proven useful to her in her career as the workforce at ERI is highly diverse. She is pleased that she opted to study for a course that prepared her for a specific career.
