Jordan Laing

Jordan is a 3rd year Media & Marketing student at Queen Margaret University. Jordan, who is from the local area, wanted to study in Edinburgh and QMU offered the type of course that he was looking for. He was also attracted by the high graduate employment rate. 

Jordan particularly enjoys the focus that the course puts on popular music – which he is personally interested in and says that the lecturer for that module is very knowledgeable as he has great contacts in the field.

Away from QMU, Jordan works in jean shop, G-Star in Edinburgh’s city centre. His boss is very sympathetic towards his needs for study time and his hours are very flexible. 

He shares a flat in Edinburgh’s ‘New Town’ with a few friends which he finds very enjoyable. The flat is conveniently located for access to transport routes to QMU. Jordan opts to get the train to QMU – which is only 6 minutes from the city centre.

All in all, Jordan is enjoying being a student and describes it an ‘an experience’.
