Campus facilities transcript On campus, you will find an impressive range of facilities designed to support your learning experience and help you make the most of your time at Queen Margaret University. Designed for the 21st Century, the innovative Learning Resource Centre (or LRC) forms the heart of the campus. The LRC is a combined IT and library facility for directed and self-directed study, It included 1000 study spaces organised as a mixture of silent study and group study areas with bookable rooms for project work, training rooms, learning support spaces, and a postgraduate study room. The LRC provides access to books and journals, both print and electronic and also to audiovisual material. Specialist teaching facilities include laboratories and clinics for practical work, a film and video production suite and a studio theatre. Off-site, there are specialist production facilities for students of drama and the creative industries, a few minutes’ walk from the campus. Then there’s our on-campus sports facilities including a sports hall large enough to accommodate four badminton courts, an aerobics/dance studio, a state-of-the-art-fitness suite and an astro-turf pitch, plus a trim track running around the campus. Finally, there is the Students’ Union, a flexible facility housing a bar and nightclub area, a café, volunteer space, and a student advice centre. The Students’ Union staff provide representation for students. Elected student officers represent student views and institutional, regional and national level.
