Involving Older People Programme – Collaborative Research Project Funding
Small research projects undertaken in collaboration with COPA as part of a supported programme of work.
The Centre promotes multidisciplinary collaboration. The emphasis is on developing research programmes that are informed by professionals and older people themselves. Practice development is closely linked to research activities.
As part of its research strategy, the Centre:
- Capitalises on existing research within the institution, e.g. in the area of involvement of older people and carers
- Extends and broadens research activity, emphasising multidisciplinarity
- Evaluates the use of research findings in practice by working with practitioners in a variety of settings
- Collaborates with other researchers, practitioners and older people
- Establishes research fellows and associates by encouraging practitioners, educators, researchers and older people to become involved in the work of the Centre
- Sets up steering groups, involving practitioners, educators, researchers and older people to advise on the focus of the research activity
