PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION
Kaleidoscope: An Optical View of East Lothian Architecture
Generously supported by East Lothian Council

Monday 1st June - Sunday 30th August 2009

Kaleidoscope: An Optical View of East Lothian Architecture features the work of Dougie Barnett.

Dougie is an outstanding photographer who has been working alongside QMU for the last 10 years. He has very recently developed a new style of op art (optical art) photography. This op art project is a method of photography concerning the interaction between illusion and the original image. It is a highly modern, intriguing style of photography which will challenge the viewer. Dougie's photographs portray East Lothian buildings in a completely new light.

This project involved Dougie photographing sites through out East Lothian and transforming the original look of the building into a modern spectacle which will intrigue and stimulate the viewer. The photographs are printed large scale and on display in various locations throughout QMU. Alongside each, there is a brief description of the building photographed and the original picture before it was edited.

The exhibition is open Monday to Friday 9am - 8pm and Saturday/Sunday 9am - 5pm. It is free to all.

Please collect your photography exhibition guide at the QMU main reception and remember to fill in our questionnaire on leaving.
