Centre for Academic Practice - Workshops and Seminar Events

Welcome to the CAP programme of workshops for Semester 2 in the 2011/12 academic year. CAP’s ongoing remit is to enhance learning, teaching and research, and to provide a diverse programme of professional development opportunities to support you in these aspects of your work.  All QMU staff, collaborative partner staff, and postgraduate students are welcome to attend.

On the learning and teaching menu, we are offering a range of topics aimed at helping you support and enhance your students’ learning. As well as highlighting any evidence base, each workshop has real, practical applications in your own teaching.

New Approach to Workshops: trial
We know that you all have busy schedules. So, this semester’s workshop menu has a new format – pick your dish and we will try to find times when a number of you are available to sit down for your “meal” together. A few of the sessions listed are for specific dates and times, but many can be organised to suit your availability. Please book through CAPadmin@qmu.ac.uk

We hope you will enjoy our programme, and we look forward to seeing you at the workshops. If you have any suggestions for future events, please contact CAP Admin. Alternatively if you would like a particular topic to be covered with your programme team, do let us know and we will design an appropriate session.

All CAP staff events are closely linked to the UK Professional Standards Framework for teaching and supporting learning in higher education. Further information at: HEA - Professional Standards Framework (pdf).

Please use the links on the left to download the programme (pdf 502KB).
