Professor Roni Bamber, Director of Centre

Professor Bamber is Director of the Centre for Academic Practice at Queen Margaret University. Prior to working in educational development, Roni was a lecturer in Spanish for 18 years, teaching in four different universities around the UK. Roni's current research is in universities as organizations, the development of academic staff, and the evaluation of academic work.

Matt Sanders, Administrative Officer

Matt supports the Director of CAP, and provides administrative services for the department including information and financial management, communication and liaison activities, marketing for the department, and runs the CAP website.

Dr Iddo Oberski, Senior Lecturer in Learning & Teaching

Iddo 'Mike' Oberski is Lecturer in Learning and Teaching. He teaches on a number of CPD courses and also co-ordinates the educational research modules of the MSc Professional Education. He is particularly interested in thinking and creativity in teaching, learning, assessment and research.

Dr Wendy Beautyman, Lecturer in Research Development and Support

Wendy is the lecturer for researcher development and support.
She offers a variety of developmental workshops for staff and graduate students.
Part of her widely varied responsibilities include promoting the Vitae researcher development framework and ensuring that researchers have access to the resources they need to be successful

Joe supports staff in the development of effective online learning materials for the institutional Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), WebCT. He has an additional interest in ePortfolios and online assessment. Joe also provides software support for the QMU VLE servers.

Fiona Boyle, Co-Director(Partnerships and Learning)

Fiona manages Third Sector Internships Scotland (TSIS) in conjunction with project partners, the Open University in Scotland and the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations. Fiona is specifically responsible for the development of student learning and support materials and overall project co-ordination.

Ed's role involves marketing TSIS to students and Student Associations and providing on-going support to students during the internship process.
Dr. Sue Murray, Researcher and Tutor (Project Funded)

Sue is the main contact for all matters ePortfolio via the use of the PebblePad software. She provides support for students and tutors in the use of ePortfolio through workshops and one-to-one sessions. Sue also supports students and tutors in their use of Turnitin, QMU's institutional tool for aiding plagiarism awareness and avoidance. Sue assists with research tasks within CAP and has been involved in two HEA funded projects, and a further study which is part of the Inter/National Coalition for Electronic Portfolio Research.
