Art Psychotherapy

This Art Psychotherapy programme is responsible for the delivery of the first postgraduate in Art Psychotherapy course in Scotland and the first MSc in Art Psychotherapy award in Europe. Staff have excellent international links and are involved in collaborative projects with other institutions of higher education across the world.

Master of Science in Art Psychotherapy

The Faculty has a substantial community of students studying art therapy at Foundation and Masters level. Study is supported by Staff with research and interest in the following:

Dr. Margaret Hills de Zarate: Cross cultural art therapy with a particular interest in Latin America and developing communities.

Katrina Millhagen
: Inner Autonomy and Intersubjectivity in Art Psychotherapy

Dr. Jane Burns:Older People, Dementia and Autism.

Margaret Temple: Relationship forming in early life and its importance across the life cycle. Art based research

Adrienne McDermid-Thomas: Forensic Mental Health Services, Adult Mental Health

Sheena McGregor: Children and Families, Fostered and Looked After Children, Children with Life Threatening Illness.
