The QMU Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund - Alumni & Friends

Photo: Chautara, Nepal - DFID – UK Department for International Development

QMU has strong connections with Nepal, with Nepalese students studying International Hospitality and Tourism at our campus in Scotland, and also in Nepal, with our partner, Silver Mountain School of Hotel Management. We also have Nepalese students in our Institute for International Health and Development (IIHD).

Our students report the almost inconceivable extent of the damage caused by the earthquake, the impact on their friends and family at home, and also the resilience of their communities.  IIHD alumni in Nepal are contributing towards the relief effort. Many of them have expertise of working in remote rural areas and their skills in coordinating relief efforts is now in evidence.

The University community, staff and students, have rallied together to put together a package of activities to raise funds to help the Nepalese community.  The proceeds will be used in a variety of ways, supporting our students directly and the wider Nepalese community.

We welcome all donations, large and small.
