Information for staff

Referral Students often look for extra advice and support at the end of a module, when there can be little time to benefit from this advice. With this in mind, it helps to recommend students to us at key points throughout a module, especially for areas such as critical reading or planning an assignment structure. We are happy to introduce ourselves briefly to a class at any stage in the year and outline the type of support we can offer.

General workshops

A programme of general study skills workshops is run in both semesters. The timetable is updated each semester, and may also include some workshops specifically for international students.

Tailored workshops

The Effective Learning Service can offer workshops tailored to meet the specific needs of particular groups of students, although this will depend on resources available at any given time. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss your requirements and those of your students.
